Who is this service for?
This service is directed towards nursing home residents who are experiencing a sense of loneliness in their daily lives. Approximately 43% of seniors regularly experience loneliness. 59% of which are more likely to go through a decline in activities of daily living. A letter or live video chat service could provide more company and joy into their lives, completely free of charge. It allows both the residents and volunteers to make meet new people and forge memorable strong relationships.
Social isolation is often overlooked in society with its solutions being less popular than other charitable acts. Research has found that social isolation and loneliness can be the cause of a variety of progressive mental and physical health issues. Examples of these illnesses include high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, and depression. We believe that our program's would greatly benefit the residents in nursing homes
Who is this service for?
Any business that believes in the same causes as us are welcome to sponsor us and in return, receive advertising on our platform. A discussion of how that will be done will be offered after becoming a sponsor.
To be able to do all this, there are some costs that arise from mailing so many letters. Without the help of sponsors, the costs fall onto the volunteers. Donations are an essential part in maintaining this organization and any support will be helpful towards our goal of being a completely cost-free service.
However, not all sponsors need to pay money. If your business provides a service that we could use or help us advertise our own organization, we will gladly advertise your company on our program.
All workers in the project will be volunteers; therefore, they will not be paid or have to pay fees in order to be a part of the organization. Volunteers are welcome to contribute financially, though they are not obligated to and any charitable contributions by volunteers and sponsors are tax-deductable by 501(c)(3) status.
Many seniors face loneliness in society; however, even though some of the physical isolation is necessary for the health of the elderly, this should not negatively impact their mental health. This problem is something that cannot be viewed from the outside in a physical sense but is affecting the residents' well-being in the same way, though it is not taken as seriously as physical problems in this world. Though we cannot provide a reason behind such problems, we do provide a solution. Our organization's goal is to give the residents of nursing homes another piece of care that is as vital to their well-being as any other care provided in a nursing facility with the companion of volunteers.
Solcollaborative is our parent company and while operating under their jurisdiction, they have given us the opportunity to take advantage of their 501(c)(3) certification so that we are able to take in donations that can be deducted from our sponsors' taxes. They have given us a platform where we can provide our service in a way that is efficient and autonomous. We cannot be more grateful for all the things that they have provided for us to become a successfully run student organization. All this would not be possible without their help and it is an honor to be a branch of their non-profit organization.
